On Tuesday, January 26th, the SDIRC held a press conference to announce the release of “Looking Forward: Immigrant Contributions to the Golden State 2010″ which is a compilation of new and existing data primarily on  the economic contributions of immigrants to California and was put together by the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC). This year, the CIPC has also released sub-sections to this report focusing on six regions in the state where immigrants represent an important and growing segment of the population. The press conference was covered by CW 6, Telemundo (Channel 33), 10News.com, Televisa, TV Azteca America, KPBS, El Diario San Diego, Notimex, Noticias Latinas, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego News Network, and Frontera. Notimex is an international news outlet (similar to the Associated Press), which allowed for the story to be picked up by news distributors throughout México.
